Over the last 7 years, Monta has led digital projects and supported communications at WHO, where she strives to amplify public health messages to more people through more channels. During the COVID-19 emergency, Monta has collaborated with public health experts and digital sector companies to support this mission and reach billions of people online. She has supported WHO’s response to multiple disease outbreaks and health emergencies around the world, with deployments to the African Region to support the first malaria vaccination campaign and to the Western Pacific Region to support the Asia Pacific Strategy for Emerging Diseases and Public health Emergencies. She was also deployed at the country-level to support COVID-19 responses in Pacific Islands. Monta has a bachelor’s degree in journalism and is a candidate for a master’s degree in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
